Wills & Probate

WILLS & PROBATE

We provide a wide range of professional services to meet your needs. We offer expert legal advice and positive guidance on all matters relating to making a will and estate administration.

What We Offer

Making a will allows you control of how your money and possessions are distributed after your death. At Dillon & Co we have experienced staff specialising in all aspects of wills and estate planning who will advise you on how best to plan your will so as to ensure that tax liability is minimised, allowing your loved ones to be provided for as you would wish.

The legal language used in drafting a will and the probate process itself can seem complicated for executors and beneficiaries alike. We can help you through any difficulties and provide the legal support you need for a tax-efficient and expedited Grant of Probate (the document required to confirm the author of the will has died, the will is authentic and the executor is who they say they are).

In the event of any unfortunate disputes, we have the necessary experience to oversee careful negotiation or, if required, court case for the desired outcome.

All the services you need, in one place

We provide comprehensive advice on all matters related to making a will, including:
  • Making and/or reviewing wills
  • All aspects of the administration of a deceased person’s estate
  • Probate or administration intestate (This is the process of administering the estate of somebody who died without making a will.)
  • Creation of Trusts (This can vary from a simple trust will for children who are under the age of 18 or 21 to more complicated trusts for vulnerable persons.)
  • Enduring Powers of Attorney (This occurs when someone can appoint one or more persons to look after their affairs in the event that they become mentally incapacitated at some stage in the future.)
  • Ward of Court Application (This application is made when somebody is no longer capable of making decisions for themselves but have not made an Enduring Power of Attorney. This process allows the next of kin, in conjunction with a representative from the Wards of Court office, to make decisions and act on behalf of the person who has become mentally incapacitated.)
  • The Nursing Home Fair Deal Scheme (This is a scheme which allows for the provision of financial support for people assessed as needing long-term nursing home care.)
